As a girl who likes to work out (or at least who likes to wear leggings all day every day!), I hate it when I buy workout clothes that might look fine, but just don't work. When I started the design for process for Epidemia Designs, being a bit of a science geek, I kept thinking about the concept in biology that "form follows function." Basically, the human body (and activewear) is not perfect because of how it looks, but because of how well it works. With that in mind, I asked myself: What do women hate most about their leggings? I'll bet you hate the same things I do.
Here are the 3 Things Women Hate Most About Their Yoga Leggings
1. Tiny Pockets - A miniature slit in the waistband, or a zipper on the back, covering a pouch that might fit a single house key is NOT A POCKET! If you like listening to music while you work out, like I do, that means keeping your phone handy. I also like to carry a little bit of cash, my keys, and, if I'm running at night, maybe some pepper spray. Good luck with most of the leggings out there. That is why Epidemia’s leggings have a REAL POCKET on each thigh.
2. Cheap Fabric - When you buy a pair of leggings and a month later they have lost their shape or get fuzz balls all over them, you feel like you were ripped off. And fabric that is thin, scratchy, pills, loses its stretch, and stays wet LITERALLY STINKS! We reviewed hundreds of fabric options, and chose quick-wicking fabric that had the best texture, thickness, stretch, and comfort. Perfect for the gym or just living. It was more expensive, but worth it.
3. The Sag – So there you are fully immersed in a forward bend and your leggings slowly but surely begin to slide down in back until you risk indecent exposure. NOT CALMING! You need leggings with a high-rise waistband to keep you snug during all-in workouts and keeps its fit wash after wash. Go for it. Epidemia's got you covered.
It felt really good to get that off my chest. Let me know what I missed and if you hate the same things about your leggings, check out our pieces at www.epidemia.com, Facebook and Instagram!
